SISTER CITY PERMANENT DISPLAY IN CITY HALL

Barbara Paulson will be collecting fabric/clothing items at our Winterfest to place in the coming
display in our Sister City showcase. The next display will be a collection of Russian fabrics which
include items of clothing and fabric crafts from Russia, highlighting those from our sister city, Rubtsovsk.

Sister City’s permanent showcase is located in the City Council Chambers.  These displays are kept
current using items donated for display by Sister City members. Nancy Hitchcock and Barbara Paulson
arrange the Sister City items in the showcase.  The exhibit is changed as Russian items of interest come
to our attention. The 2010 winter showcase included troikas, Father Frost, the Snow Maiden and birch
trees set in a snowy, winter scene. In Spring of 2010  there was a display of  Russian Pysanky Eggs
and icons depicting Russian Saints. The summer 2010 display included ceramic and porcelain items
with posters describing the style and manufacturers of the different pieces. The current display
celebrates the 20th Anniversary of our Sister City Organization.
